[IEM] Gamescom – Day 1

The sixth season of the Intel Extreme Masters, the global league of the video game champions, will take off with its first Global Challenge at gamescom 2011 in Cologne (August 17 – 21). The event will host the world’s best SC2 gamers fighting for a share of 21,000 US Dollar and a slot in the World Championship competition, the grand finale of each season of the league.

Eight top North American players have been invited to participate in the 2011 North American Battle.net Invitational to fight for their chunk of a $24,000 prize pool and a shot at earning an invite to represent their region at the 2011 Global Battle.net Invitational at BlizzCon 2011.
